Miles Timber Gate
Miles has a top rail that dips towards the middle and a large curved brace below the dividing rail. Its lower panels remain enclosed as standard; the curved brace does not turn the base into open pickets.
Dipped top, sweeping brace and enclosed base
Use Drawing to compare the available upper-section treatments while retaining the solid lower panels. For double gates, the paired curves meet across the entrance. Sliding is shown as one continuous layout: confirm its proportions, support frame and hardware with us and your installer.

Original catalogue references show particular examples, not the exact proportions, finish or hardware of a new order. The responsive concept drawing is indicative; final shop drawings are confirmed before manufacture.
Size the Miles for your entrance
- Measure the clear post-to-post opening in millimetres. For double gates, give the full opening once.
- Give the highest overall gate height, including the shaped top. No separate middle-height input is required.
- Choose pedestrian, double or sliding, then check the available section treatments in Drawing. Baby blue indicates see-through spaces.
- Tell us whether your posts are existing or required, and include entrance photographs and your delivery suburb/postcode.
For a slider, show the run-back space beside the opening. Your installer must confirm support, ground conditions, operating clearances and motor compatibility. The calculator does not approve a site or replace final drawings.
Supply-only prices and inclusions
The base gate estimate is $1,200 per metre of opening width for a pedestrian gate, or $980 per metre of total opening width for double and sliding gates. GST is included; height does not change that base rate. A 1,000 mm pedestrian opening gives a $1,200 gate estimate; a 3,000 mm double opening gives $2,940. Delivery, posts, hardware and custom extras are separate.
Buy the gate direct and choose your own carpenter or gate installer. Buy a compatible motor separately if needed; motors and installation are excluded from the base gate price. Your confirmed quote controls the final specification and inclusions.
Made to order, supplied ready for painting
Standard LOSP treated pine gates are supplied treated and raw. Standard gate thickness is 65 mm; other thicknesses and timbers are available by custom enquiry, with specification and pricing confirmed before manufacture. The frame uses mortise-and-tenon joints reinforced with custom-made 300 mm screws underneath the joints.
The manufacturer’s structural warranty is 10 years. Keep treated pine painted and maintained: repaint or touch up every two years. Read the painting and care guidance. Allow 4–6 weeks from time of order; confirm freight arrangements separately.
